Points to keep in mind
- With other single & double wall vanes: every sixth vane must be welded to the runner for ducts running at 1000 fpm or over (or install tie rods through the center)
- Other double wall vanes: there is no positive fastening of the blades to the runner. The vanes are either tabbed or inserted into slotted dimples. This leaves the possibility of rattling or detaching
- The H-E-P vane: provides two tie rods through each blade; with fasteners (nails) that don't slip. H-E-P is formed from a single piece of 26 gauge hot dipped galvanized steel. No sharp leading edge to catch dirt or lint
